Winter Blues?!?

If you've been getting the winter blues,  you might want to check out a free workshop for grownups at Multnomah County Libraries.  Be good to yourself!

"The Winter Blues:  A Guide to Seasonal Affective Disorder",  Sunday, January 13, 3PM, Capitol Hill Library.  "If you have lived in the Pacific Northwest for any period of time, you know that all this beautiful green nature around us comes at a price – rain. For some of us, the dark, dreary days of winter seem to stretch on endlessly, having a profound effect on our mood and quality of life. Psychologists Jason Luoma and Brian Thompson of the Portland Psychotherapy Clinic will share the latest information about Seasonal Affective Disorder , including the available treatments and behavioral changes that can lessen its effects."

"Rain and the Brain", Wednesday, January 16, 6:30PM, St. Johns Library; Saturday, January 19, 2PM, Belmont Library; Sunday, January 27, 2PM, Gregory Heights Library; and Saturday, February 2, 2PM, Midland Library.  "Do you anticipate Oregon’s winters with despair? Feeling sluggish, lazy and blue in the rainy season? Short days and overcast skies can affect your mood and energy level more than you realize and brain science has studied the difference.  There is a cure, or at least ways to alleviate the symptoms.  Learn more in this presentation from mental health counselor Louise Lague."

The Capitol Hill event is on Jan. 13, not Feb. 13, according to the library site.
