Dalles Mountain

Dalles Mountain is one of the most famous places to see spring wildflowers in the Columbia River Gorge.  We decided to see what all the fuss is about.  Wow! It was well worth the drive.  A Discover Pass is required for parking.

Tiny seedling with striking crimson cotyledons (the first leaves of a sprouting seed).
Painted lady.  I believe these are the same butterflies that are available in kits for kids to raise from caterpillars.
