Oregon Coast Aquarium

Jasper loves the Oregon Coast Aquarium!  He especially loves their touch pool.  It has a really amazing variety of animals.  But the volunteer staff are the true treasures.  We have never encountered one who was less than amazing. They seem to know hundreds of fascinating things about each of the animals.  We have never met one that didn't have a knack for making everyone feel comfortable touching the animals while feeling confident we aren't hurting them. Jasper literally can spend hours just hanging around the touch pool and they always make him feel welcome. We've been to larger and grander aquariums, but end up concluding that this one is just the best.

Bay pipefish are closely related to sea horses and live in Oregon estuaries.  So cool!
