GLEAN Exhibit

Every fall, Metro (the government body which manages regional garbage collection (among lots of other things), Recology (an employee owned recycler) and Crackedpots (an artist collective) sponsor 5 artists and give them access to "the dump".  They make art from garbage, and the resulting exhibit is called "GLEAN". The idea is to spread awareness of all the perfectly reusable stuff we throw out. Last year the show was pretty cool. This year, it was really, really good.  I love to take Jasper to see this show because it really illustrates the idea that art can be made from anything. Here are a few of our favorites from this year's show.

"Echinoderm" by Beckey Kaye.
"Balanced" by Brian Hutsebout
"Wings" by Rio Wrenn.
