Once a year, the Oregon Olive Mill has the Olio Nuovo Festa, a festival for freshly made, unfiltered olive oil. It's fabulous stuff, boldly flavored and delicious, and this is the only way to get it. It's shelf life is limited, but ours never stands a chance of lasting uneaten long enough to spoil anyway. The festival is free, with olive oil samples to taste and lots of scrumptious hors d'oeuvre made with olive oil. They give free tours of the olive mill and explain exactly how the fresh olives are processed. Yum! We went this year with Jasper's aunt and uncle, and had a wonderful time.
