Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge
It was one of those spring days when the sun shines brightly between cloudbursts. We went to Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge with friends to see how spring is shaping up there. We found it teeming with life! The tadpole pond was full of chorus frog egg masses. A jar full of water from the tadpole pond revealed literally hundreds of living critters (mostly scuds, water fleas and fairy shrimp- all crustaceans). Wildflowers were beginning to bloom. And everywhere it's like a paradise for salamanders!
