Tryon Creek

Our homeschool group had a ramble at lovely Tryon Creek on a cool and sunny spring day. We roamed around in the woods and then visited the meadow.  I had no idea there was a meadow there until we went on a guided bat walk a few years ago. If you are in the parking area and head in the opposite direction from the visitor center, you will find the trail, and it's a short walk to the meadow. Critters like rabbits and snakes are much easier to spot than under the tall trees. The wildflowers blooming now throughout the park are mostly of the tiny but beautiful variety, unlike the large, showy trilliums that bloom in early spring, so be sure to take the time to look closely.
