L. L. Stub Stewart State Park

We went on a walk with some friends at Stub Stewart recently.  I love this State Park for many reasons.   It's a great place for a peaceful walk in the woods far from the sounds of traffic.  Through most of the year you will see wildflowers everywhere you look, there is a pond teeming with hundreds of newts, and you are almost guaranteed to see horses.  There are wonderful views from the Hilltop Parking Area (where the Rose City Astronomers have monthly star parties on clear nights).  I gave the kids an assignment which they took most seriously:  to find wildflowers of each color of the rainbow.   We came pretty close. I photographed the results.  More about this wonderful park here:  http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_255.php
