We took a weekend trip to Seattle, armed with a long list of places to explore, and made it to about half. That's the way I like it! Lots of reasons to go back. After the long drive up in the morning, we stopped at
Punjab Sweets in Kent for some food and some of their famous mithai (Indian sweets). They serve superb Punjabi food that is 100% vegetarian, and really amazing sweets. There are sweets of that quality in Berkeley CA, Queens NY, and Oak Tree Road between Edison and Iselin, NJ, and we were thrilled to actually find some in the Pacific Northwest! Jasper was smitten and declared it worth the drive.

Next we stopped by the
Seattle Aquarium. Jasper loves aquariums and this one is no exception. There are lots of touch pools, which are always his favorite part. Our only complaint is that they are much too high off the ground, and not designed to accommodate young children with ease. Without actually crawling in, it can be hard for little ones to see over the rim. It's a big aquarium with lots of neat exhibits.

Seattle is a hub for a large network of ferries. We took one just for sightseeing purposes from the
Washington State Ferry Terminal to Bremerton, which was very affordable and had lovely views. We left the ferry to have some dinner, then returned to watch the moonrise and the sunset over the water and see the skyline of Seattle light up.
