Fernhill Wetlands

We went back to Fernhill Wetlands to revel in one of Jasper's favorite spots while it's in its winter glory.  Fernhill Wetlands are a magnet for overwintering migratory waterfowl.  There are no seasonal trail closures and it's easy to see beautiful birds without fancy equipment.  We've never gone there without seeing something marvelous, so I can promise it's worth the drive!  On this visit, we saw 16 species.  It's also a good spot to see nutria and salamanders (if you look under rocks.)
