Painted Hills

We had been hoping for years to see the Painted Hills of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. We escaped there for a weekend and found an unearthly landscape of rare beauty.

Jasper loves finding lizards!  This little guy looked like a sagebrush lizard.
