Before winter comes in the higher elevations, it seemed an excellent idea to visit magnificent Mt. Hood. We dropped by the
Timberline Lodge, and took a trail that begins right behind it.

You don't have to go far before you reach stunning views of Mt. Jefferson and the Three Sisters. Up here it's too cold, windy, and dry for trees, yet little wildflowers seem to pop up everywhere, and chipmunks dart in and out of holes.
