Canoeing on the Willamette

The Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership offered a paddle on the Willamette River, which I thought sounded pretty exciting.  I spread the word, and soon our homeschool group, along with Michael and Patrick from http://exploreportlandnature.wordpress.com/ took over the trip!  It was a wonderful journey.  Their big canoes are very stable and fun to paddle, and somehow the vast Willamette seemed very accessible indeed.  Canoeing trips, along with all sorts of environmental education programs, are offered by the LCREP, with grant money enabling them to offer very reasonable rates.  Here are some pictures of a few of the wonders we glimpsed.
