Cool stuff this weekend

Two great reasons to be up way too early tomorrow morning-  there will be a visible lunar eclipse beginning at 3:17 AM and being at its fullest at 4:58AM PDT http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2010/24jun_lunareclipse/ and beginning at 5:45AM, there will be hot air balloon launches in Tigard http://www.tigardballoon.org/  (They are planned for Sunday morning as well).

This Saturday is also a Scandinavian Festival:  "82nd Annual Midsummer Festival, Saturday, June 26, 2010, Presented by:  Scandinavian Heritage Foundation & League of Swedish Societies, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

And here's another event your kid might really enjoy:
Harrod Blank has made a new documentary about art cars which he will be showing at the Clinton St. Theatre in SE on Sunday at 7PM.  (It will also be showing tonight at 9PM for you families of night owls!)  He will discuss the film, and locals will be there to show off their art cars!  Adults are $6 and kids under 12 are $3.  I went to a similar event when he released an earlier film on this topic and it was a lot of fun.  More info here:  http://www.clintonsttheater.com/
