Snow Day

School was cancelled all over the Portland area today, but homeschool was in full session.  Our group rambled all over, looking for animal tracks in the snow and mud, enjoying the wintery beauty.  It was one of those days when it seemed enough just to listen to the sounds all around us- the gentle plop of snow falling off tree branches, the cry of a hawk, the babble of a creek, the laughter of children.  Time to notice, and time to wonder.
