A bimaran paddle lead by Metro naturalist James Davis on
Smith and Bybee Lakes was offered last year, and we loved it! I kept an eye out to see if one would be offered this year, and one was. Bimarans are two canoes attached together, which makes a really stable craft. Kids can wiggle around and lean over the edge without capsizing the boat. Jasper thoroughly enjoys the chance to look for strange water plants and weird water bugs! This year, the weather was gorgeous. Among the excited people who joined in were
local blogger Michael and his son Patrick, as well as a father and son from our homeschool group. Afterwards the boys looked all around on in the shallows for tadpoles, tiny fish, and yet more water bugs. Jasper was so intent on catching evasive bullfrog tadpoles that he was in up to his waist!
