Rae Campbell came to the Tigard Library to share her love of fused glass in a special workshop. When I learned about it, there was already a waitlist, but we were very lucky to get a call the evening before letting us know there would be room for Jasper to participate. He was thrilled! Ms. Campbell brought a huge glass buffet of shapes and colors from which the kids could pick. Then they arranged them on clear squares. They could choose to have the pieces fused under just enough heat to adhere the pieces together, or at a higher temperature that would allow the glass to melt a bit more. They could also choose to make a suncatcher with a wire hanging loop, or have their piece molded into two different styles of dish shapes. Jasper was given as much time as he wanted to arrange his masterpiece as he liked. When we picked the fused piece up later at the library, he was very excited to see the results.
