Millipedes!

Recently, we were in a nature park with lots and lots of small rotting logs by the trail.  One of Jasper's favorite activities is finding creepy crawlies, so he lost no time in turning over logs, and he found quite a variety of millipedes.  Jasper was very excited to see the big ones (about 3 inches long!)  and took one home to keep as a pet.  On the way, we stopped at a Goodwill and found a very fancy looking home for "Milly".  (At least,  the tank looks pretty fancy from a distance.  Up close, it looks like a cat made it!)  Millipedes are cool and make great pets!  Okay, I can hear you all saying, "WHAT?!?"  But consider that they are really easy to care for- just give them some water and some rotting stuff to eat- and can be kept together without ever thinking about eating each other!  That's always a plus in a pet. Actually, the fact that they eat rotting stuff has made Jasper wonder whether we could replace our worm bin with a millipede bin.  Everything you might want to know about their care can be found  here.
