Awesome homeschooling mom Wendy organized a field trip for our homeschool group to
Plumper Pumpkin Patch, which is one of our favorite spring events. You might wonder what we'd be doing at a pumpkin patch in the spring? Planting pumpkins! Kids get turns as a group to prepare a row for planting, plant pumpkin seeds by hand, and then cover the row. In the fall we can come back, find the row we planted together, and select a pie pumpkin to take home! There were also lots of farm animals to see, and talks on the history of the farm, the milking barn, different farm implements they use there on the farm, and beekeeping. This year they have installed a fancy solar panel which works even on cloudy days. And this place has some great play equipment!
