Stream Exploration

A stonefly, and a caddis fly (in its shell made of pebbles).
Some friends invited our homeschool group to come do some nature exploration at their home, and Jasper happily splashed around in their stream looking for wonders.  What could be better?
A rubber boa.  Our friends had captured it earlier and were planning to keep it to
admire it for a day or so. They are difficult to feed in captivity.
A pair of Pacific sideband snails.

A stonefly nymph.
Some of the amazing things we found- a giant Pacific salamander larva, water striders, stonefly nymphs,  and crawdads.
