Oyster Mushrooms

We picked up a pink oyster mushroom kit at the Oregon Mycological Society's annual show, and it really produced some nice results!  Here they are before they made it into a Russian mushroom cream sauce. Yum!

There were lots more for sale at the Mushfest, the highlight of which was the amazing Mushroom Zoetrope Sculpture!  As it whizzed around, it gave the optical illusion that stationary mushrooms were springing up and growing right before your eyes.  It was pretty inspirational.  I had never thought that the  "lazy susans" that one finds at thrift stores everywhere could be a tool to create a three-dimensional animation, but now I can see clearly how that could work.  We were excited to find yet another cool way of celebrating the amazing mushrooms of the great Northwest!
