Dawson Creek Park

Dawson Creek Park is a natural area within an office park which surrounds the Hillsboro Main Library.  There is a surprising amount of natural beauty to be seen here, so if you stop by the library for one of their summer reading shows, their monthly nature programs presented by Jackson Bottom Wetlands, or a program with the Rice NW Museum of Rocks and Minerals, be sure to check it out!  We stopped by recently and set out to see what we could see.

It's not blooming yet, but it's still pretty cool to find wapato, a plant which
was a very important staple of the Native American diet.

Acorn woodpecker. These guys are becoming very rare, but there is a large group of them here. Find them on the southward trail.
