Bricks Cascade 2012

There was no way we were going to miss the Lego convention, Bricks Cascade, when it hit Portland earlier this month.  We were thrilled with the intricacy and detail of the many amazing creations on display. The artwork on display was very different than that we saw at Nathan Sawaya's recent touring exhibit.  His work is mostly on a large scale and fairly minimal, and this artwork was more conventionally small and/or well detailed.  It was really inspiring to Jasper, a serious Lego junkie.  Here are a few pictures of some of its marvels.
Vietnam in wartime.
The creator was inspired by a visit to Konigstein Castle in Germany.
A quidditch stadium.
A very cute beetle!
We loved the pterosaurs on the roof of the hotel.
The Tower Bridge of London.
Jasper's most favorite piece.  I tried to take a picture of him with it, and was rewarded with horrible faces!

Thanks for posting pics! We missed the exhibit when it was in town, but it sounded like so much fun (I have two Lego-loving boys).
