We went to an open house by A-Wol Dance Collective, and found a marvelous behind the scenes look at their new show, "Gridlock", which is opening in April. Without special lighting and costumes, the dancers rehearsed songs with and without music. The musicians who collaborated with them to compose and perform the music discussed their process. And a rigger talked about making their concept of a huge, movable grid that would be incorporated into the dance a reality. It was pretty cool! The show is going to be a smash. Their shows are really engaging for kids and always family friendly. And A-Wol offers classes for adults and kids alike! It's magic!
