"Champoeg Homeschool Afternoon", Tuesday, March 19, 1:30PM-4PM, Champoeg State Park. $6 each participant, both adults and children. Preregistration required; email Kim Martin email@example.com. "Join other homeschoolers for this award-winning program that offers students a chance to learn about local history by activity-oriented lessons led by costumed teachers. Two grade level programs will be offered concurrently: Grades 1 and 2, Promise of a Good Life focuses on how the past is different from the present, with plenty of opportunities to make crafts, learn about children’s roles in the 19th century, and explore what it was like to take a long journey by wagon. The Promise of Settlement, for grades 3 and 4, delves into the three different culture groups that contributed to the unique community of Champoeg, by learning about the lifeways of the Kalapuya, the customs of the French fur trappers and the impact of newly arrived American settlers." http://www.champoeg.org/ The history programs at Champoeg are always top-notch, and I'm sure these will be excellent!
