Jab Tak Hai Jaan

The world bid farewell to a filmmaker who brought movie magic to billions when Yash Chopra died, only a few weeks before his final film was to be released.  Yash Chopra was 80 and had been making movies since 1959.  With "Jab Tak Hai Jaan (As Long As There Is Life In Me)"  he gave us another epic romance to remember.  He was aided by A R Rahman, the best music director in the business, and Gulzar, the unparalleled lyricist.  What's it about?  Well, God, Family, Country, and True Love, of course, and a sensitive guy who is in demand diffusing bombs in Kashmir without bothering to wear any body armor.   And as always it's about how modern times may bring changes, but staying true to traditional values is where it's at!  Portions of the film were actually shot in Kashmir, which has such legendary beauty it's nickname is "heaven on earth", and much of the rest in London.  It's playing at the Valley Theater in Beaverton (while some showings are all ages, their liquor license requires that some showings are 21 and over).  It's not to be missed!
