We had a perfect fall day on our hands, warm and sunny, and we headed to the
Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island to meet friends and explore their epic corn maize. This year it was in the shape of the Portlandia statue. They have signs explaining just how they go about creating pictures in this groovy maze for the appreciation of the birds. At least, they explain how they choose the corn variety and the process of growing it and forming the paths. Yet they somehow don't reveal what we all really want to know- just how to they know from the ground where the paths should be?
